Count me impressed

Review for MR920 Elite

As a long time Glock owner, I had always ignored dubious upgrades and Gucci Glocks builds. No reason to mess with a solid reliable and overall excellent platform.

Glock’s patent expiration from the original design has opened a new field for a company like Shadow to build upon Glock excellent design and not skirt around it.

Shadow Systems has seized this opportunity and has done an excellent job in rethinking the platform and modernizing it while maintaining the reliability and most importantly safety that marked the original design.

The grip inserts have different angles that will allow you a much better range of options. The grip texture is vastly improved. The trigger is very good and still allows you to go to town with any upgrade you wish to introduce.

To me though the most striking (pun intended I guess) new feature of the Shadow is the optic mounting systems. They have redesigned the internal of the slide to accommodate for a deep cut in it, thus offering a gun with a solid and incredibly low mount point for a red dot. In 2021, a serious reflection on how to best make use and include red dots in the design of a gun is an absolute must, and yet the all the Austrians have to offer is a flimsy plastic plate that of course needs to be upgraded at an additional and not irrelevant cost for the owner.

I have shot the MR9 Elite a lot, and it’s a very flat shooting pistol with notable upgrades which has been shooting very reliably accurately and FLAT (see video I attached to the review) for me.

Lastly, I enjoyed interacting with Shadow’s CS. They are excellent and a pleasure to deal with, really second to none.
