Shadow Systems Releases High-Capacity Compensated Subcompact Pistol, the CR920XP

Plano, TX (August 2024)In a continuation of the successful CR920 line of pistols, American handgun maker Shadow Systems has announced the release of a compensated version of their recently revealed CR920X pistol. This newest model, the CR920XP (P for “Performance”), pairs their patent pending compensator design with the existing CR920X. This is a full grip pistol that carries Shadow’s proprietary 15-round magazine in a flush fit configuration. The CR line of guns feature a micro-light rail, and a patented multi-footprint optic cut.

The CR920XP makes use of Shadow’s patent-pending compensator attachment technology. Eliminating set screws and tools, the compensator can be removed with firm pressure either with the thumb or by pressing against a hard surface. The barrel uses three lugs to connect the compensator which saves significant space and length versus a threaded barrel. This approach keeps the pistol very short relative to other compensated competitors and significantly simplifies maintenance.

The CR920X will be available in the Elite slide configuration and starting at $889. All Shadow Systems pistols feature metal sights, EDC safe flat-faced triggers, exceptional ergonomics and texture, and match grade barrels. Those who have fired the CR920XP off a bench have been stunned by the accuracy potential of the pistol.

The CR920XP will fit open bottom holsters designed for the G43X MOS models or CR920 pistol. Some holster manufacturers have released closed bottom holsters designed specifically for the CR920XP. The magazine is steel, not polymer, and is engineered for extra spring power to ensure reliability with a wide range of ammo when fired from compromised shooting positions. New generation Shadow Systems steel magazines feature an ultra-smooth, nickel Teflon coating. Despite the quality of the magazine, Shadow Systems keeps the price of their proprietary magazines reasonable, and they carry a recommended retail price of around $29.

The CR920XP internals feature a stainless-steel guide rod and a drop-safe, flat-faced trigger. The trigger has a 4.5-5.0 pound trigger pull and a crisp, tactile reset. The CR920XP ships in a zippered pistol rug with two 15-round magazines.

The CR920XP is manufactured wholly in the United States using American labor and materials. The veteran-led team at Shadow Systems includes former law enforcement officers, members of the military, and competitive shooters. This diverse background contributes to Shadow Systems’ unique design philosophy of building pistols with features based on real-world shooting experience. Every Shadow Systems pistol is designed to be highly reliable and easy to shoot well right out of the box.
