Description
This Guide Rod assembly is used in the manufacture of the MR/DR/XR pistols. The rod is turned from one piece of 17-4 stainless steel and features a small cross hole to enable easy disassembly and spring replacement. Many rods do not have a cross hole, and you are forced to clamp the rod in something when removing or torquing the screw. This often results in damage to the rod. The cross hole solves the problem.
The rod comes with a Shadow Systems chrome silicon spring manufactured to match OEM specifications. This is a long wearing, high quality spring that exceeds the performance of a factory spring, particularly when subjected to substantial heat from extended firing.
We use blue locktite during assembly. If ordering the complete spring assembly, the screw will be torqued and locktited for you. Select from the following spring options:
Standard Factory Weight: 18 lbs. spring. This is what ships from the factory.
Lightweight: 15 lbs. spring. Used in cases where light ammo or muzzle devices are causing short stroking (failure to extract/eject typically).
Heavy: 20 lbs. spring. For use with very heavy ammo or suppressors that are not allowing breech to fully close. Typically, this is the spring for suppressor reliability issues.
Fits MR/DR/XR models. Also fits Gen4-5 models 19, 23, 32, 38
